Willie Nelson and Diana Krall star in an animated video of their duet performance of the song I Won’t Dance, part of Nelson’s upcoming tribute to Frank Sinatra.
The animated short film incorporates stylized cartoons of the two artists performing their wry duet in vibrant scenes conceived by animators Manuel Casares and Antonio Corral.

A 20th century jazz standard with music by Jerome Kern, I Won’t Dance has two sets of lyrics: The first was written by Oscar Hammerstein II and Otto Harbach in 1934, while the second was penned by Dorothy Fields and Jimmy McHugh. The latter version became a hit when Fred Astaire performed it for the 1935 film adaptation of the Broadway musical Roberta.
Frank Sinatra recorded I Won’t Dance for his 1957 album A Swingin’ Affair! and again for his 1962 recording Sinatra–Basie.
Nelson and Krall’s recording of the song will appear on Nelson’s upcoming studio album That’s Life, due to be released Feb. 26. It’s the country legend’s second musical homage to Sinatra, following his Grammy-winning record My Way in 2018.
