Tequila Sun Ra

An experimental jazz savant and "cosmic" philosopher, Sun Ra took his adopted surname from the Egyptian God of the Sun. So it's only fitting that we name this tequila sunrise after him. Mix up some tequila, orange juice and grenadine, and you'll be enjoying this popular cocktail in no time.

  • 1 1/2 oz Blanco tequila
  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 3/4 oz grenadine syrup
  • 1 orange slice, for garnish
  • 1 maraschino cherry, for garnish

  1. In a chilled highball glass filled with ice, pour in the tequila and the orange juice. Top with the grenadine and allow it to settle to the bottom of the glass. Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
