A new documentary about iconic jazz trumpeter Roy Hargrove will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival next month.
Directed by Eliana Henri, the film follows the Grammy Award winner from Los Angeles to Paris, New York, Vienne, Perugia, Sète, Sorrento and Marseille during a summer European tour in what would be the final year of his life. Hargrove died of cardiac arrest related to kidney disease on Nov. 2, 2018, at the age of 49.
The documentary includes performance footage of Hargrove along with interviews with Herbie Hancock, Robert Glasper, Erykah Badu, Yasiin Bey, Wynton Marsalis, Sonny Rollins, Christian McBride, Willie Jones III, Questlove and Ralph Moore.
The film will premiere on Sunday, June 12, in New York.
