For the first time in its history, JAZZ.FM91 has won gold for Best Jazz Format from the New York Festivals Radio Awards.
The festival honours content from across the globe celebrating excellence and innovation. All aspects of the radio and audio industries are embraced in all genres and platforms. The categories mirror today’s trends and encourage the next generation of story-tellers by recognizing their achievements. This year’s competition included world-class entries from 24 countries.
“This is a tremendous honour,” said Dana Wigle, General Manager of JAZZ.FM91. “It speaks to the incredible talent of our hard-working staff, the passion and loyalty of our listener-supporters, and the brilliant artists and storytellers we get to feature every single day. It’s amazing what this community accomplishes together.”
JAZZ.FM91 is also proud to have received finalist certificates in three additional categories in the 2022 NYF Radio Awards:
- The Black History Month vignette series, written and hosted by John Devenish, for Best Writing.
- The Caribbean Christmas Mixtape with Joy Lapps-Lewis and Larnell Lewis, part of our Sound of Jazz concert series, for Best Music Special.
- In the Land of the Misty Giant featuring Shaun Martin on The Oscar Peterson Channel, for Best Music Podcast.
All entries were judged by a grand jury of more than 200 producers, directors, writers and other creative media professionals. Award-winning entries are showcased in the NYF Radio Awards winners gallery.
