For the second consecutive year, JAZZ.FM91 has won the Sound of Success Award at the Canadian Radio Awards, given annually by Broadcast Dialogue.
Also known as the Howards, the Canadian Radio Awards were launched in 2020 to recognize excellence in broadcasting across 13 categories, both in front of the mic and behind the scenes.
The Sound of Success Award recognizes a radio campaign that demonstrates how radio successfully contributed to business objectives in a local or national sales campaign. This year, JAZZ.FM91 was recognized for our production of advertisements for Yamaha Canada Music.
In other categories, JAZZ.FM91 was a runner-up for the award for best community service initiative in a major market, thanks to our annual Holiday Heroes Instrument Drive. John Devenish, host of Dinner Jazz, was a runner-up for best on-air solo host (music) in a major market.
Last year, JAZZ.FM91 won the Sound of Success Award for its station’s messaging about the importance of our relationships with community partners such as the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Regent Park School of Music, Bay Bloor Radio and more.
In 2021, the station was also named campus or community station of the year in a major market.
