Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Story is heading to theatres this May.
Following its premiere at SXSW, Sony Pictures Classics will release the film in New York and Los Angeles on May 13 before expanding to additional markets in the following weeks.
The documentary feature was co-directed by five-time Academy Award nominee Frank Marshal and Emmy nominee Ryan Suffern.

The film weaves together live performances and interviews captured during the festival’s 50th anniversary edition in 2019, along with archival footage from throughout Jazz Fest’s history.
The film features more than 50 performers, including Jimmy Buffett, Bruce Springsteen, Aaron Neville, the Marsalis Family, Irma Thomas, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Herbie Hancock, Al Green, Gary Clark, Jr., and many more.
The film was produced by Marshall, Suffern and Sean Stuart (The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash) and executive produced by Quint Davis and Jimmy Buffett.
